  • How much is it?
  • How will I use it?
  • How good is it compared to other similar products?
  • Will the company stand behind it? How do I know they will stand behind it?

Promoting that your company will stand behind what it sells will help you answer one of the main concerns your customers have. Customers who are confident in their decisions buy. Is it better to promote a “guarantee” or a “warranty”?

Both are important, have similar meanings, but are different.

Guarantee (noun): a formal promise or assurance (typically in writing) that certain conditions will be fulfilled, esp. that a product will be repaired or replaced if not of a specified quality and durability.

Warranty (noun): a written guarantee, issued to the purchaser of an article by its manufacturer, promising to repair or replace it if necessary within a specified period of time.

What good is a guarantee if nobody knows about it? The simplest and most effective thing you can do to improve customer confidence and sales is to promote your guarantees and warranties.  What are the best ways to promote them?

Guarantees should be readily advertised not only on your signage, flyers, envelopes and marketing materials, but also directly on your individual product packaging, as well as shipping packages. Guarantees not only show confidence in your products, but may also help give potential customers the added persuasion to purchase your product over another.

Guarantee labels can be created in endless shapes, sizes, and colors, including anything from a simple seal to an elaborate satisfaction guarantee policy with specific details and contact information.

Add a catchy slogan about your guarantee and make your guarantee label into a marketing piece that has the power to be a stand-alone as well.

A warranty is a written pledge stating conditions that give a customer confidence in their decision to buy your products. Using guarantees and warranties are vital if you are in a service industry. A warranty is most often presented on a certificate that describes the details about what is being warranted, how long the warranty period is and other information about it.

Many businesses honor a guarantee but fail to promote it. You may be one of them.
